Does APBMA issue digital badges?
Yes. APBMA issues its own digital badges to members: one for the member’s membership grade and, as members stay with APBMA, badges for milestone years of membership. Every badge has its own permanent public page on apbma.org.
Which grade badges are there?
There is one badge for each membership grade.

Awarded to members studying, or within one year of graduating from, a business-related programme.
APBMA Associate Member
Awarded to members with over 5 years experience in the field and a degree level or equivalent qualification. Entitled to use the letters AAPBMA.
APBMA Fellow
Awarded to members with over 12 years experience in the field, at least 8 of them at a strategic level. Entitled to use the letters FAPBMA.
APBMA Chartered Fellow
The highest individual grade. Awarded to members with over 15 years experience, at least 10 of them at a strategic level. Entitled to use the letters CFAPBMA.
APBMA Corporate Member
Awarded to organisations that support their employees through APBMA training and recognition.
APBMA Companion
An honorary grade for academics, professors and highly experienced management consultants. By invitation only.
What are the milestone badges?
Milestone badges recognize continuous membership. Currently available:
2 Years of Membership
5 Years of Membership
How does a member get a badge?
A grade badge is issued automatically once a membership is active, and milestone badges are awarded as a member reaches each number of years. Members find their badges in the member portal, where they can choose to make a badge public and add it to LinkedIn or a CV. Nothing is public until the member makes it so.
How can an employer check a badge?
Open the badge link the member shares. The badge page shows the badge and the grade or milestone it stands for, and shows clearly if a badge has been withdrawn. The member’s name appears only if the member chose to make the badge public.
APBMA badges follow the Open Badges 2.0 standard, so they can also be checked with an Open Badges verifier. A membership can be checked with its code on the member verification page.
